My process and policies.
When we initially speak, I will gather as much information about your project needs as possible. Please be sure to have relevant information available and be ready to answer questions. I will then compile an estimate for your project, and submit that to you, along with a contract. The estimate is subject to change, due to the nature of design revisions and feedback sessions. I will always try to maintain open and honest communication with you throughout the process. If your project looks like it will go beyond the initial estimate (financially or time-wise), I will let you know right away. Should you decide you want to make changes to the agreed upon scope, we can rework the project plan, based on the contract stipulations. If for any reason you decide that you no longer want to continue with the project, I am happy to provide you with a final invoice for time and expenses, plus any cancellation fees listed in the contract. This is a very rare occurrence, given how thorough I like to be in determining your needs from the outset, and doing everything possible to meet or exceed them throughout the process of the project.
• A deposit (usually 30% – 50% of the project price) is required before I begin a project.
• Once a payment is made, it is non-refundable. This includes deposits, progress payments, final payments, reimbursements for expenses, etc.
• Final design files will not be sent to you until the final balance has been fully paid.
• I will not work for free. This includes spec work, barters, design contests, etc. I will also not work at a reduced rate for any reason, including the promise of future higher paying projects or high value referrals.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me.
